The team here at Ranchers Meats is very informative and will gladly answer any questions our customers may have about the services we offer. However, we have created a guide below which provides our valued customers with all the necessary information and tools to make them feel more prepared for the experience.

 

BEEF

Mobile Slaughter Fee: $225

Cut & Wrap: $1.60/lb (Hanging Weight)

After 14 days there will be a $20 hang fee

 

LAMB & GOAT

Services Offered


 

MOBILE butchering

Your “Farm to Table” needs are just a phone call away. Our team of mobile slaughtermen are working 5 days a week, helping local ranchers put food on their tables.

We operate as far north as Redding and as far south as Willows however, there is an option to bring livestock to our home ranch for our customers that live farther out.

  • Transportation fees may apply if we come to pick-up your animals outside of our mobile slaughter perimeters. Please call us for more information.

In order to reduce stress on the animals, our truck is fully equipped with everything we need to begin processing your livestock on site. Our trained slaughtermen take pride in their craft and are well versed in humane livestock handling practices, therefore our customers can expect their ranch butchering experience to be fast, clean and respectful.

We don’t expect our customers to clean up our mess. All animal waste products will be brought back to the shop and disposed of properly, leaving your ranch without much of a trace we were ever there at all.

  • $20/head waste disposal fee. (Even if offal is taken by the customer at the time of slaughter, a disposal fee will still be incurred)

  • Slaughter Fees:

    Beef: $225/ Head

    Hogs: $125/Head

    Lamb & Goat: $100/Head

  • Emergency Kills: If you have an animal that is not on our schedule but needs attention immediately, a $200/Head Fee will be incurred in addition to the relative slaughter fee.

  • Hides and heads, if desired, will be available at the shop for customer pick up on the day of slaughter only and will otherwise be disposed of.

  • The heart, liver, and tongue of the animal will be processed and packaged upon customer’s request for an additional $40.

Please understand that although we try our best to accommodate all of our mobile slaughter customers, our schedule does fill quickly so we recommend scheduling your butcher date about a month in advance.

CUT & WRAP

We help our customers get the most out of their Cut & Wrap experience at Ranchers Meats by offering a very detailed cut sheet for each species, with plenty of options for customization.

All meat processed at Ranchers is vacuumed sealed. Ground beef or bulk sausage is wrapped in one pound or two pound clipper tied chubs.

As part of our customer service standard, all meat will be completely frozen and boxed before our customers receive a phone call that their meat is ready for pick up.

FEES (Updated Jan. 2023)

  • General Processing Fee: $1.50/lb

  • Wild Game Processing Fee: $1.80/lb

  • Domestic Animal Minimum Charge (Animals under 90lbs) - $105

  • Wild Animal Minimum Charge (Game under 90lbs) - $175

  • $1.30/lb additional charge for ground beef or bulk sausage to be vacuum sealed.

30 Month Plus Rule:

Beef animals older than 30 months of age are required by the USDA to be processed boneless. An additional $5 fee will be added to the “waste/disposal fee” for the animal in order to ensure all SRM’s are disposed of properly. The physiological age of the animal is determined through dentition unless official registration documents are presented at the time of slaughter.

Cold Storage Fees:

At Ranchers Meats we allow beef carcasses to hang 12 - 14 days to allow for maximum tenderness. If we have the space to allow it, our customers may request a longer hang time with an additional cost.

  • 21 Day Hang Fee: $140

  • “Hang Only” Fee: $20/day

(Hang only fees are applied to livestock and wild game that will be occupying cooler space but not getting processed in our facility)

Customers will have 10 business days to pick up their meat after they have received a call that it is ready. After 10 days, an additional $10/day freezer storage fee will be incurred.

Splitting Fees:

Splitting your meat between friends? No problem! At Ranchers we are happy to help you get the meat split evenly into separate boxes.

There is no additional cost to split your hog or beef into halves. However, it takes a little more work to get animals divided evenly into quarters and an additional fee will be incurred to do so.

Beef Split “A/B/C/D” - $80

Hog Split “A/B/C/D” - $40

Lamb Split Two Ways - $20

*Lambs will not be split into quarters

PROCESSED & SMOKED MEAT PRODUCTS

At Ranchers Meats, we do not outsource any of our products for further processing. All of our smoked and processed meat products are made in house with quality ingredients and carefully crafted recipes.

We process a variety of products including:

  • Bacons

  • Bratwurst Sausage

  • Canadian Bacon

  • Hams (Bone-In & Boneless)

  • Jerky

  • Patties

  • Snack Sticks

  • Summer Sausage

We have over 20 varieties of sausage in our retail shop that are also available for our customer’s custom cut & wrap orders.

A 12.5lb Minimum is required per sausage flavor

With custom hog orders, please allow extra time for us to smoke your hams, bacons, and hocks especially during our busy spring and summer seasons.
